Passengers: In-Camera FX Exploration
As part of the marketing for the film "Passengers", Sony Pictures commissioned an exploration of
in-camera FX, using footage and objects from the film.
Working at his studio FX WRX, Christopher Webb and his team created optical FX with motion control, projection, and sci-fi props. A Kira arm, from Motorized Precision, was employed to manipulate an optical beam splitter. Other rigs moved props and lights in sync with the projected footage to create visual atmosphere.
